The following is a description of the Allstar Stats contract designations. Just match your league's contract rules to the corresponding Allstar Stats designation. With contract tracking, the players in your league will automatically have their contracts updated in the off-season and players in their option year (O) and players that have completed a long term contract (L1) will automatically be released from their rotisserie teams
S2 - Short Term contract with 2 years remaining (including current year) until option year. If your league plays by standard rotisserie rules players drafted for the current season are assigned S2 contracts. At the conclusion of the current season S2 contracts become S1 contracts.
S1 - Short Term contract
with 1 year remaining (current year) until option year. If your league plays by standard rotisserie rules players
playing in their second year for a team have S1 contracts. At the conclusion of the
current season S1 contracts become O (option year) contracts which can be extended to Long
Term contracts prior to the next season's draft.
O - Option year. Player
will be a free agent upon the conclusion of current season. If your league plays by standard rotisserie rules
players playing in their third year for a team and have not been extended Long Term
contracts have O contracts. At the end of the current season all players with O
contracts are released and are available at the next season's draft.
L2 - Long Term contract
with 2 years remaining (including current year). If your league plays by standard rotisserie rules
players that have two years remaining (including the current season) on current long term contracts have L2 contracts. At the end of the current season L2 contracts become L1
contracts.
L1 - Long Term contract in
final year. Player will be a free agent upon the conclusion of current season. If your league plays by standard rotisserie rules players that are currently playing in the final season of a Long Term contract have L1 contracts. At the end of the current season all players with L1 contracts are released and are available at the next season's draft.
The difference betweenO and L1 contracts is that O contracts can be extended to Long Term contracts prior to the
draft. L1 contracts are not extendable.

- 2002 - Gonzalez continues to be protected and his contract becomes L1.
